Take part in the annual National Stamp Collecting Competition organised by the Singapore Philatelic Museum and supported by the Ministry of Education. The Competition aims to promote the study of postage stamps and philatelic materials to learn about Singapore and the world. The competition allows students to sharpen learning and thinking skills such as language development, writing, research and creativity.

Date: 1 April to 12 July 2019

Students work in groups of 4 and submit philatelic exhibits using stamp products and narratives based on a theme of their choice (eg: nature, transportation, sports, culture etc).

From now to June, Primary 4 – 6 and Secondary 1 – 4 students can join the workshop to learn how to present their exhibits for the Competition. Exhibits can be presented in the Mother Tongue languages; Chinese, Malay and Tamil.

Winning entries will be displayed in end August 2019, and winners awarded Gold and Silver trophies, and certificates. Schools also stand to compete for the Championship trophy.

Draw My Stamp Story Art Competition

Date: 1 April – 12 July 2019

Organised by the Singapore Philatelic Museum, the competition allows primary and secondary students to appreciate the designs on postage stamps.

Primary 3-6 and Secondary 1-4 students can use their imagination to create their own picture story using Singapore stamps. With a maximum of three unused stamps, create a background picture surrounding the stamps on the artwork.

Winning entries will be displayed in end August 2019, and winners awarded Gold and Silver trophies, and certificates.
