Look out for the colourful, giant urban pool pit filled with foam cubes that will excite children and adults alike

This holiday season, Tanjong Pagar Centre (TPC) will partner local artists and performers to transform the Urban Park into a colourful, fun and exciting place for all to enjoy! Have a Hullabaloo Christmas at TPC comes in an explosion of colours, patterns and shapes set in a whimsical landscape. Starting 12 November, unwind at TPC’s very own Hullabaloo pool for the curious and creative. Soak in the festive colours and enjoy endless Instagram worthy moments.

The vibrant, bright colours of Hullabaloo was first presented at The Artground – ‘A Curious Place To Be’(commissioned by National Arts Council). It is designed by local visual artist Aida Sa’ad, who drew inspiration from the expressive and colourful drawings by her sister who has autism.

Being at the forefront of placemaking activities and in line with its vision of Live-Work-Play, TPC has rolled out a curated line-up of lifestyle activities at the Urban Park since its opening in 2016. In collaboration with The Artground, this event hopes to encourage city dwellers to upkeep a healthy work-life balance on weekdays, and draw people back to the city for a fun, engaging time during the weekends.

Activities

1. TGIF Music Station; Lunchtime Entertainment

In partnership with Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre, TPC is proud to be the venue partner for TGIF Music Station. The lunchtime show takes place at Urban Park, every 1st and 3rd Friday of the month, from 12.30pm to 1.30pm. Patrons will be entertained with a collection of acoustic performances by local acts such as Cheryl Fong (2 Nov), Sherraine Low (16 Nov), Zerlene (7 Dec) and Jarrell Huang (21 Dec).

2. Pompom Pets Workshop by Local Arts Collective

On the Saturdays of 24 Nov and 15 Dec, children can look forward to a fun-filled session of pompom pet making workshop! Guided by handicraft masters, you will learn how to create your very own pet using yarn and simple craft materials. Participants will be able to bring home their own creation of a Pompom pet. With a minimum spending of $15 (maximum of 3 combined receipts from the same day of purchase), shoppers can redeem a free pass to participate in the workshop. Limited to the first 50 per session only.

3. Christmas Highlights

• Bead by Bead pop-up booth

To celebrate the spirit of giving, Bead & Bead, a local friendship club comprising a group of mothers with teenage children on the autism spectrum, will be setting up a pop-up booth selling handcrafted art pieces on 23 Nov and 14 Dec.

• Live Band Performance by KAYNA

Making a special appearance in Asia for the first time, KAYNA, a band from Ecuador will be performing an extensive repertoire, presenting the best of traditional music while combining it with present urban rhythm. Be enchanted with songs that combines traditional Ecuadorian Kichwa music, North American meditation music, “Latin” tropical music and world music.

• Christmas Carolling

On 19 Dec, come to celebrate with us and spread the Christmas joy at TPC! A group of passionate singers from NUS Kent Ridge Hall Acapella and Choir brings to you a special festive edition, where you can sing along to the line-up of classic Christmas tunes!

From 12 Nov to 28 Dec, shoppers who make 3 transactions of at least $6 per transaction, at participating outlets in TPC, can redeem $3 ride rewards from Grab! This promotion is for the first 10,000 redemptions only, limited to 2 redemptions per user. In addition, users who spend $10 via GrabPay will also receive a $5 return voucher at the participating stores. This promotion is limited to 1 redemption per customer.

2. Kids Dine for Free on Weekends

There is no better comfort than spending your weekends over a good meal your family! On the weekends between 12 Nov and 25 Dec, children below 12 years old can enjoy a complimentary meal at selected restaurants when dining in. These stores are: Ippudo, Pura Brasa, Real Thai, Hattendo Café and Blue Lotus Chinese Grill House & Bar. Redemption is limited to 1 kid’s meal with every main course ordered.
