Members of the public can look forward to meet-the-author sessions with new and award-winning local children’s books authors, book launches, story-telling sessions and talks. Parents can pick up parenting tips such as how to choose the right children’s books, financial and internet literacy, and understand how children learn through drawing. Hands-on activities* such as drawing contests and craft workshops are bound to keep young children entertained as they learn.

The U Care Back to School Fair is organised by NTUC Care & Share Department. In addition to the talks and activities, visitors can also look forward to shopping for school-related merchandise at the fair with discounts as high as up to 75% for NTUC members.

Aimed at helping youths understand the importance of setting their life aspirations early through a self-discovery process, Project 1319 “youth symposium” will be conducted mainly by successful young speakers and will provide practical and inspirational tips for youths.

  • Draw Out the Best in U (Workshop): Project 1319 kicks off with a self-discovery workshop by well-known comic artist, Mr Johnny Lau (Creator of Mr. Kiasu and “Jump Class” 跳班comic series).
  • Drawing Inspiration (Talk): Speakers share their personal journeys as they overcome challenges and discover what they really want in life. Speakers include Ahmad Hidayat, the world’s 2nd ranking barista and founder of Dutch Colony Coffee.
