Bring Festive Cheer to the Needy, Give a Festive Pack (Fú Dài)

The festive season can be a lonely time for an elderly living alone or for a family facing difficulty. A volunteer bearing a Festive Pack (Fú Dài) brings more than gifts – his or her gesture shows that someone cares.

Support the SG Care & Share Day and join Community Chest in this volunteering project to show care and concern to the less fortunate. For each outright donation of $50 or more, Community Chest will arrange for a Festive Pack (Fú Dài) containing sponsored festive items and necessities to be delivered to a person in need.

100% of the proceeds of this project will also go towards critical social service programmes that help the less fortunate.

About Community Chest
Community Chest was founded in 1983 to raise funds for Singapore’s many social service organisations so they can focus on their primary responsibility of caring for and serving the needy. Community Chest raises funds on a yearly basis to meet the needs of the critical social service programmes that we support. Community Chest ensures that fund-raising and other operating costs are kept to a minimum. As these costs are covered mainly by Tote Board and Singapore Pools, every dollar raised by Community Chest will be made available to the social service programmes under its care.

For Financial Year 2014, Community Chest is supporting 226 social service programmes to help over 300,000* beneficiaries. These programmes require about $92.9m of community funding, which will help provide critical and essential services to help:

  • Children with special needs to reach potential
  • Adults with disabilities to integrate into society
  • Relationships of families in difficulty to stay strong
  • Elderly to age graciously in the community

*including direct service users, caregivers and public education outreach

Care & Share Movement
Under the Care & Share Movement, your donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Government from now till 31 December 2014. Care and Share Movement is a national fund-raising and volunteerism movement led by Community Chest for the social service sector, as Singapore approaches its 50th year of independence in 2015.

It aims to bring our nation together to show care and concern for the needy and recognise the contributions made by voluntary welfare organisations. The matched amount will go towards building the capabilities and capacities of the social service sector to meet rising needs.
