After visiting the 3 vintage Dragon Playgrounds in Singapore, we went hunting for the last known heritage dragon playground that we knew of – another Mini or some call it Baby Dragon.

There are 2 Baby Dragons still in existence, one in Toa Payoh Lor 1 and one at MacPherson. These baby dragons were modified from the original full-sized dragons (you can find them at Toa Payoh Lor 6 and Ang Mo Kio Ave 3) due to space constraints.

This is a much simpler mosaic playground for kids as they can simply climb up from the stairs to the dragon’s head. The space at the top is more limited as compared to their full-sized cousins.

Once upon the head, children can look through the dragon’s eyes to view the surrounding.

Similar to Toa Payoh mini dragon playground, the sandpit has been replaced by a rubber base which is safer for kids.

The kids can choose to slide down to the tail via the main slide or via the support (as taught by the kids who are having fun there). They actually asked us “Uncle, why are you taking so many photos?”

Our reply is simple: first for nostalgic reasons and secondly before it disappears in the future and replaced by the plastic ready-made playgrounds.

Unlike the baby dragon at Toa Payoh Lor 1, this is a stand-alone playground with some fitness stations but the kids still had lots of fun anyway.
