Time Flies and we are approaching 2009. Every year, I will make it a point to make my resolution. Two years back, I started making 2 sets of resolutions. My personal ones and my parenting resolutions.
I am not a perfect mum but I always try to do my best to improve myself. I reflected on myself and realized that I lost my patience on Ashton as he grows and as he becomes more and more stubborn. So being more patient is one of my resolution for 2009.
Here’s my full set of resolutions:
- Be patient with my children and keep my cool
- Adopt a more loving approach
- Make the effort to spend more quality time with them
- Love them for who they are
- Curb my short-tempered when dealing with my children
- try to fulfill their emotion needs.
- Talk to them more to understand them better
What’s your parenting resolutions of the year? I wish all of you a Happy New Year and hope that you enjoy a a more fulfilling year to come.
Hope you enjoy reading The New Age Parents and I look forward to have you here with me in the coming year. I will continue to share my experiences as my children grows.

Year 2008 is a year where i saw my girl blossom from babyhood to kiddy-hood. Now that she’s walking (alr running too), talking (sometimes nagging at me) and can better understand the world around her; my Year 2009 resolution is to grow with her, be it physical, visual, speech or imagination!
Sometimes after a long winding day, it is refreshing to hear my girl telling me about “things that I dont understand”
I just look at her expressions, her hands moving vividly, hear her blabblish speech — i tell u, i never regret having my baby at all.
Of course, my 2nd resolution is to be more efficient at my work so to bring home the bread and share with my girl
Cheers! And have a Happy New Year!
