SCS Women’s Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Campaign 2017

Raising greater awareness of early detection and screening of uterine, ovarian and cervical cancers
Pap smear screening offered at no cost to eligible women island-wide

Singapore Cancer Society (SCS) is organising its 4th annual Women’s Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Campaign (WGCAM) from today until 31 July 2017. WGCAM 2017 aims to raise greater awareness of early detection and screening of women’s gynaecological cancers, namely uterine, ovarian and cervical cancers, which are among the top ten cancers in Singaporean women.

For WGCAM 2017, SCS is collaborating with General Practitioners (GPs) to conduct Pap smear screening at their clinics at no charge for eligible women. To date, more than 160 GP clinics island-wide have joined the SCS WGCAM campaign to provide Pap smear screening from 2 May to 31 July 2017. This screening is available to all female Singaporeans and Permanent Residents aged between 25 and 69 years who have had sex, and have not had a Pap smear in the last three years. (Please refer to the link below for a list of participating clinics).

SCS aims to minimise the burden of cervical cancer through regular screening, and the Society has been providing Pap smear screening year-round at no charge since 1969. Pap smears are available by appointment at the SCS Multi-Service Centre located at the Junction 8 Office Tower.
