Ai Zhen: When i am preggie, i drink water during daytime and nighttime i try to drink less as movement is less. When sleep time or rest on the sofa i will put my foot on the pillow so it can reduce the swell.
Vanessa Heng: Drink more water to flush away e salt u eat. I have joints pain n numbness for my both pregnancies. Gynae also said nothing can do.. I went for acupuncture for temp relief of pain..
Regina Koh: yes cut down on salt intake, dont take outside food too often, drink more water, lift ur legs up when u slp.. i dont have any water retention during preg cos i drank plenty of water and lift legs up when i was slping, really helps..
Sharon Seah Li-Lian: Poor mommy! Sounds bad. I had it bad too - massage yr fingers, legs and soak yr feet end of day and put them up. Salt, fruits, water. Yr gynae sounds v non interventionist. I was given some protein tabs but I'm not convinced it worked. Hang in there! It'll go away once you see ur baby.
Lorraine Pei : Hi mummy, i shared the same agony as u when i was preggy a yr back. My gynae prescribed me with some tablets to ease the numbness and water retention. It didnt help much too. The only things i did were to reduced drinking water at night and lift my legs whenever i could. Even after i delivered, the numbness didnt completely went away. I still had it when i was doing repetitive actions like feeding my girl. Till now, everymorning i wake up with my fingers feeling swollen and when i try to bent, it has a funny sensation. Though not as painful as during preg when i couldnt sleep like urself.
Eilyn Mei Ling Tan: When they say drink more water, we dun drink alot at one go, but sips. Average 1.5~2ltr daily to flush out excess sodium in our body, that causes retention.
Deepa Asha Dewi: Coconut drink helps.. Apparently it's a diuretic helps reduce water retention, uti, gives gd complexion, reduces the vernix on baby giving a clean delivery.. But its cooling so unless ur body is very heaty u can't tk it regularly.. Usually just once a wk..
Serene Mahaffy: Go for a walk in the pool, the deeper the better. The water pressure will force the fluid out if your tissues and into the bladder and out of your body through your urine. Mine were massively swollen and my daily walks were the only times they felt somewhat regular!
